Hi! I’m Chelsea O’Connor.

UI/UX
STRATEGIC PRODUCT DESIGN

I am a mission-driven UI/UX designer with a background in media production and digital products, dedicated to crafting user-centric experiences that fuse creativity and functionality to drive positive change.

What I do

As a designer with a background in startups, digital media production, and technology executive positions, I thrive on understanding your business and its people/users to create a unique brand that stands out from competitors, because your business has the potential to change the world.

Every day, I use my expertise in media production, storytelling, technology design, and startup acumen in my UI/UX designs to elevate organizations working on positive, sustainable solutions that improve human life.

I assist in identifying your company’s genuine design requirements, rather than pushing unnecessary services. If I can’t handle your needs directly, I coordinate a network of skilled freelancers to get the job done.

Why I’m different

1- I am a big picture thinker. I insist on understanding the ‘why’.

2- I am a people person! Working with others fuels my passion to help you succeed.

3- I believe the foundation of good business, best design, and communications practices begin with an honest and transparent approach.

my Skills

I am constantly learning new skills to keep up with changing trends in available technologies. My goal is to use available tools and technologies that enable: a) me to be the most efficient with my time, b) creative freedom, and c) excellent execution.

  • DESIGN DIRECTION
  • Product MANAGEMENT
  • UI/UX Design
  • BUSINESS  STRATEGY

In addition to my design capabilities, I am a keen advocate for the products that I work to create. Over the course of my career, I have represented my clients businesses at conferences around the world. From KidScreen to TechCrunch to SOCAP, nothing brings me more pride than having the opportunity to represent businesses that I believe in and the the team work that I am a part of to the outside world.

I also enjoy introducing new design trends to iterative product-based businesses.

Award winning production

Yes, that is a fake Oscar (with the crew of my series The Reel Cut, on RogersTV) but I have been awarded scholarships and bursaries along with winning Pixie Awards, and a Yorkton, as well as being nominated for a KidScreen Award for my work in digital media production. I was most recently the Associate Producer of an award-winning feature length documentary ‘The Price of Cheap’ which explores forced labor and labor exploitation in the textile industry.

TESTIMONIALS

I have been fortunate in my career to cultivate positive relationships with my colleagues and am humbled to publish these words from people I truly respect and admire.

Chelsea started with muuvment in August 2018 when it was in its infancy. At that time we had very limited resources yet faced many challenges to get the project up and running. Chelsea’s willingness to turn her hand to any job that presented itself was extremely important to getting muuvment to where it is today and we are most grateful to her for ‘digging in’ when it was most needed. Chelsea has a plethora of varying skillsets which she can call upon when faced with difficult and challenging situations. She is sincere, honest and can be trusted with the most delicate and sensitive matters. Her energy and enthusiasm will be greatly missed.

President, muuvment

Chelsea O’Connor wholeheartedly believes in our city’s talent… As an industry professional and role model, she combines virtue, integrity, and charisma with intense creative passion and humour. I don’t know what we’d do without her.

Craig Conoley

Owner, Partus Films

I’ve really enjoyed working with Chelsea! As a leader, she cares deeply about her work and teammates. And she’s great at her job: her organizational systems have kept our team running — not an easy task given the complexity of our tech platform. She is great at communication, has excellent attention to detail, and is an expert at juggling many balls. I hope to work with her again in future!

Chelsea is able to adapt to any situation that she is thrown into. She has a skill set that is rare in the multitasking and changing environment of screen based entertainment. I would hire her in a heartbeat for any position as she brings an enthusiasm and professionalism that is hard to come by.
